We got some snow last week, and I went out in my sweatshirt and got some great pictures. It was really less of a real "snow" and more of an ice storm with some flurries sprinkled in, but...

We have the entire song memorized around here. Even down to the "Exciting news! Henry the VIII is looking for a new wife!" at the end. Bug has this great way of hitting his forehead too...and squealing; he's really great at that.

Yes, we're in (actually nearing the end) of the Tudor dynasty. Interesting, yes. Sad, very.

And guess what I'm thinking I'll do my 2ND research paper on? It's supposed to be a historical event...so I'm thinking I'll do it on The Reign of Mary Tudor. Should be fascinating...but I still have to come up with an opinion.

Another great video...(we hear *someone* going around the house singing "tuwas...tuwas..." (skip to 50 seconds in) over and over again.) if you're studying the Tudors. Never enough Horrible Histories, right?

courageous - a movie review

We watched Courageous last night!

And it was truly amazing, I thought--everything it promised to be.

They had me bawling like crazy at certain parts (even if I knew what was going to happen), but then laughing hysterically also. They really upped the humor in this one, which was awesome. :P

Unfortunately, I really can't give you much of the plot, since it would give away a lot...

But if you've seen the trailer, you'll know it's about a bunch of cops who try to become better dads. And they make this resolution...and they're eventually tested to see if they follow through with it.

There were a couple of places that were kind of violent...(fighting, gangs, drugs) stuff like that...but my 9-year-old sister watched it and was fine. So, though it's rated PG-13, I think it'd probably be fine for younger people...

And there were some really sweet, sad parts too...

And some really great witty humor. :D

And then of course there's the trademark Alex Kendrick move where he bows his head and cries (y'all probably all know that one). ;) But it had to happen somewhere...

As for the quotes, I don't really want to give the best parts away (aka, I don't really remember the ones that wouldn't)...so you'll just have to watch it and find out. :)

This movie had a really great message tied in with it's plot, also. And that's part of what makes it so sad/funny/totally awesome...

So...I give it ******************* out of ***** stars. :P

And if you have a spare evening (or even if you don't), sit down and watch Courageous with your family (and make sure your dad's there, 'cause this one is really for them). Trust me. You won't be disappointed. ;)

this has been making it's rounds...

...so I'm sure a bunch of y'all have already seen it. But it's a video that was put on youtube 10 days ago and got a huge response from a ton of people. It's a guy telling us why he hates religion, but loves Jesus. It's a really cool video...

...but I don't really agree with all of it.

So then there's this really awesome blog I love to read, written by this college student, Marc, who lived here and went to the church we go to until he went to Franciscan University. And he wrote a great response to this video, from a Catholic's perspective (go and read it, esp. if you're Catholic!)

And Marc found this video response to the above video. So if you don't feel like reading that entire, long post...then here's what I believe in a nutshell...

Well, it's true.

I never thought that Wikipedia would be gone for 24 hours.

In all my hours of worry, the thought never occurred to me that I might lose wonderful Wikipedia. It came as a complete shock. *sigh*

BUT.

I've been doing my history homework on my iPod! And it's working. :P I read an article that said that wiki works on mobile devices. And it was right. So now I have my Wikipedia back. Kind of. And I can actually get some work done! So worry no more, wonderful people. If you are getting tired of seeing that black banner when ever you try to find out what the "counter reformation" is, the hop on your iPod...or iPhone...or whatever you have. And voila! Wiki is back!

(I sound like an advertisement, don't I...)

Anyway...

The funny thing is, I'm not a technical person at all. And I can't figure out how to do a ton of blog related things (that everyone knows how to except me :P). And I rely heavily on Google.

Mood...happy, tired...

Outside my window...it's sunny. And warmer then it's been lately. But still cold enough.

I'm thinking...about books...

I'm currently reading...King Lear for Lit. I read the entire harry potter series over break (and into starting school), though. About three weeks. And 7 books. I figured I averaged about 3 days per book which, considering how thick most of them are, is pretty good...:P

I'm listening to...Gab practicing flute. Ornaments being taken off the tree. :(

I'm wearing...sweatshirt, jeans. I got cold in my short sleeves. :D

I'm looking forward to...when Gab and I are going on a retreat in a week. (yay!)

I'm hoping...that I won't get too much co-op work on Tuesday, when we start back to co-op.

Yesterday, I...only had to do lit., redid my blog, watched Mr. Popper's Penguins, and nearly died in practice. By the way, the movie's pretty cute. I haven't read the book, though, so I didn't know what to expect...

I'm hungry for...lunch. a diet coke.

The song stuck inside my head is...i can't really have a song stuck in my head while Gab's practicing, unfortunately...

I love...movies. I think I've said that before.

I loathe...restless night's sleep. I had a ton of dreams last night. And I normally sleep dreamlessly. And the dreams I had were extremely weird.

This week, my goal is...go to 5 days of practice next week. I need to make up for Christmas break, when I barely went at all...

Did I meet last week's goal?...didn't do this last week...

Ending time...12:25 PM
