So I put together this video of our prom photo shoot this morning. :) Gab and I went together with my friend, Hannah. It was yesterday night, and my ankles and shins are still aching.
But it was awesome. Hope you like it!
(5 brownie points if you know what movie our 'princess waving' is from)
P. S. I went to The Hunger Games last night! It was a totally last minute thing...as in, Mom told me that morning that my parents had decided it was fine for us to go (thank you, plugged-in). And then we got tickets. And we went last night at 9:30. And it was awesome. Thank you, wonderful parents!
(oh, and watch for a review. don't worry, I'll warn you if I give spoilers...:D)
We have the entire song memorized around here. Even down to the "Exciting news! Henry the VIII is looking for a new wife!" at the end. Bug has this great way of hitting his forehead too...and squealing; he's really great at that.
Yes, we're in (actually nearing the end) of the Tudor dynasty. Interesting, yes. Sad, very.
And guess what I'm thinking I'll do my 2ND research paper on? It's supposed to be a historical event...so I'm thinking I'll do it on The Reign of Mary Tudor. Should be fascinating...but I still have to come up with an opinion.
Another great video...(we hear *someone* going around the house singing "tuwas...tuwas..." (skip to 50 seconds in) over and over again.) if you're studying the Tudors. Never enough Horrible Histories, right?
...so I'm sure a bunch of y'all have already seen it. But it's a video that was put on youtube 10 days ago and got a huge response from a ton of people. It's a guy telling us why he hates religion, but loves Jesus. It's a really cool video...
...but I don't really agree with all of it.
So then there's this really awesome blog I love to read, written by this college student, Marc, who lived here and went to the church we go to until he went to Franciscan University. And he wrote a great response to this video, from a Catholic's perspective (go and read it, esp. if you're Catholic!)
And Marc found this video response to the above video. So if you don't feel like reading that entire, long post...then here's what I believe in a nutshell...
After all, it's still Christmas, right? Maybe not Christmas Day, but definitely still Christmas.
While we were at our Pappap's house this weekend, we got a "Merry Christmas!" as a good bye, and then a "Oh, no, it's actually not Christmas anymore. So Happy New Year!". And Gab and I just looked at each other.
Really?!?!
Since when has Christmas ended after December 25th?
And who says that after that day, it's over? The government? The calendars? The factories that make the calendars?
So. Just thought I'd clear that up, as it's been bothering me since yesterday afternoon. :)
Oh, and (I know this is completely out of the point, but...) have you seen this video yet? It's fantastic.
And, according to USA Today, this guy's only 16! Yeah, I know. We were all amazed that he actually sounds like a guy! Imagine that! Younger then Justin Bieber, and sounds twice as mature. Amazing. :P
Anyway...lots of love, have fun on the rest of your break, and...
{1} when you think of "old movies", what immediately comes to mind?
Hmm...well, normally something like this...
...and even this (though it's not quite as old)...
{2} who's your one of you favorite film or literary heroes (or heroines) and why?
This couple has to be my favorite hero couple ever (sorry, but these guys are like the ultimate heroes. :P)...
(P. S. *Spoiler Alert* If you're planning to watch the movies (and haven't yet), then you probably shouldn't watch this...unless you really want to. :P) But this has to be the best scene of all of the movies...has to...
So here's the hero.
Jack Sparrow: "One question about your business, boy, or there's no use going: This girl... how far are you willing to go to save her?" Will Turner: "I'd die for her." Jack Sparrow: "Oh good. No worries then."
He's loyal...he's courageous...and he's honorable. That's why I love him. ;)
And here's my heroine...
This girl is awesome. She clever, she's adventurous, and she can use a sword! Who doesn't like someone like that? (I'd love to learn how to use a sword...:P)
As I said, the best fictional couple. Ever. You can't get better then pirates. :)
{3} if you could live in a movie, which one would it be and why?
POTC and probably Harry Potter. (I haven't watched them yet, but I know the story, so I'm sure I'd love to live in Hogwarts...)
{4} music has changed a lot since 1900 - which "modern" type of music is your favorite?
Hmm...stuff like Owl City, Taylor Swift, plus soundtracks...
{5} any songs you'd like to share with us? (lyrics, video, etc.)
Tangled (+ POTC) has been on my mind lately...
{6} if your life had soundtrack, what would it sound like?
If you want to hear what the first song would be, look at the first song on my playlist (especially starting at 2:20). *sigh*<3 The rest would be a mix of Tangled, POTC, Narnia, and How To Train Your Dragon...
{7} when do you start counting down till your birthday?
Depends on the year. Sometimes in the fall, sometimes not till winter, sometimes my birthday totally creeps up on me...
{8} what makes your birthday special?
What!?! It's my birthday! I get older. Everybody has to treat me nice. :P
{9} do you ever wish you were born in a different month?
Definitely not. I was just talking with somebody the other day about how my birthday is *perfect*, especially in the swimming world...(it's the end of the entire year, even for year-round swimmers...)
{10} pick and post five words to describe your personality - you can add a description under each if you like.
Nerdy - yes, I admit it. I'm slightly nerdy. But as a homeschooler, I guess you can't help but get branded a nerd. I just have to hope that I'm a nice one...:P
Busy - yes, I'm a very busy person. Even my personality is busy. Business keeps me in line. If I'm not busy, I usually don't do as well. I do better with a little bit of stress then none at all...
Sunny - ha! I thesarus-ed the word happy so I wouldn't completely copy you, Jo. But you always hear about people with 'sunny personalities' in books and stuff, so it works...
Romantic - ok, Jo, so here's where the copying really comes in. :P I'm sorry, but this is just one of the words I would use to describe myself. Yes...I'm a hopeless romantic. ;)
Leader - Yes, I copied you again, Jo. But it's true. And I was amazed at myself when I realized I was a born leader...
I finally have the pictures ready. Since a video is funner, faster, and better to watch, that's what I did--a slideshow. You probably remember Gab did one last year. So I did one this year! And now my first video is published..*sigh*...I feel so proud of myself. :P
(P. S. The pinchy hand motions we make in some of the group pictures are because Bug loves to make "crabby hands"...)
Check out the video, and then go here and try it out! This is hilarious...try it out, EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE A WEBCAM...believe me, it will be worth it. :P
