i miss my sis

I guess a more appropriate title would be 'i miss my sisters', but 'i miss my sis' sounds better.

Here's the thing: Just last year, every day of every week we were all together. Gab, Jewel (Annette...she changed her name*), Josie, Bug, and I were all together every day. (one of the pluses of homeschooling, right?) And now...you're in the car with Bug, Mom, and Josie and realize that when you get home, there still won't be a Gab or a Jewel to say hi to. It's so sad. It makes me miss them. :(

You see, Gab's at CC three days a week for hours at a time; Jewel's going to private school...so Josie, Bug, and I are left at home. And the house seems so quiet. I mean, it's not like I'm playing or talking with them every moment. But after 9 years of being together every day, it just seems so weird that they're gone all the time.

I guess this is sorta a rambling post...but, just to let y'all know Jewel and Gab, I miss you when you're gone!

*Jewel has been changing stuff up around her blog. If you were following her and you found suddenly her blog disappeared, it was because we changed the URL...we're still figuring everything out. So if you were following her (or want to), and don't know the link, here it is*

9/11 - we'll never forget

9th month of the year...

8:46 AM...

2,977+ deaths (+19 terrorists)

Over 6,000 injured

55 military personnel killed at the Pentagon

411 emergency workers killed as they tried to help

Only 1,631 have been identified (as of August 2011).

At least 200 people died jumping or falling from the WTC buildings

1 thing we will NEVER FORGET

We'll be praying for those 2,996 people who died there today.

We will always remember.

We will never forget.

What was that about the world ending?

So now it's May 23, and we're all still alive. Hmm...

Supposedly on Saturday we were supposed to have been taken up into Heaven, earthquakes were supposed to caused lots of destruction, and disaster was supposed to be all over. But it didn't happen. And the sad thing is, people are now blaming this on Christians in general.

Uhh...where does it say that? I thought that it said that "but about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." And now people are claiming to have a SET DAY and a SET TIME that the world will end? Do I believe it? Definitely not. And since nothing happened, I feel bad for those people that sold everything and stuff, because they thought that the end of the world was coming.

So now I've heard that there's a new prediction from some people: October 21, 2011. Supposedly that would be because only some people were taken up on Saturday, and the world will actually end in October. Hmm...sorry, guys. Don't believe the Bible says that anywhere. In fact, I was inclined to think that it said that no one knows when it'll end...

So we'll just have to wait here God until HE--not anyone else--decides that it's time for the world to end. And in the meantime, we can do what we were made for. We can glorify Him. ;)

So...

...my seating audition results are in...and I'm terribly disappointed in myself. I went from being 1st to coming in 3rd.

Oh well...it'll just have to do...

But thank you for the prayers!

Saturday Morning Daybook

hosted by Miss Jo March @ scraps from my workbasket.
Date...April 16, 2011
Starting time...10:05
Mood...happy, excited...
Outside my window...it's a very dreary day. Rainy, cloudy, and not especially warm...
I'm thinking...about how to redo my blog for Holy Week...
I'm currently reading...He Leadeth Me (still!) and all my history reading
I'm listening to...Bug making monkey sounds, people in the kitchen, music that just came on...
I'm wearing...well...uhh...now I have sweat pants and a striped shirt on. I had something else on, but then decided that I should wash it...:P So, yeah.
I'm looking forward to...Tonight!
I'm hoping...that my audition results will come out soon! I'm sure they'll be out tomorrow night at Evans...but I'm DYING over here!
Yesterday, I...watched The Scarlet and the Black. It's about a priest at the time of WWII who hides Jews in the Vatican. It's very interesting. We've watched it before and decided to watch it again.
I'm hungry for...something sweet...
The song stuck inside my head is...Your Great Name by Natalie Grant...
I love...my friends!
I loathe...you guys won't believe what I just did. I just realized this. I just started laundry...and I had my iPod touch in my pocket...and I put my jeans in the washer...and so my iTouch was in the washer for about 5 minutes!!!! I just went looking for it and realized and found it in there...I can't believe I just did that. So now I have to let it dry out for a couple days. This is really awful...
This week, my goal is...1: to post about my Evans result. 2: to get my Touch to dry out. 3: to remember to never do that again...
Did I meet last week's goal?...well...don't know if I did my best, but...
Ending time...10:19. I had to stop to get my iPod out of the washer.

April Fools...and bad news...

Happy April Fools Day!!!

(yes, the header is supposed to be like that)

Now...for the bad news part. This is what we have reason to be UNhappy about...

"Some protesters spend more than five days a week picketing outside Planned Parenthood's...offices. But what they might not realize is that their actions have raised thousands of dollars for the organization.

Through Planned Parenthood's Pledge-a-Picket program, those protesters are helping the organization more than they're hurting it. That's because donors have agreed to make a pledge of financial support to Planned Parenthood for every protester that shows up outside.

...

"If there are a lot of picketers, we get a lot more money for our services here."

Last year, the Pledge-A-Picket program brought in more than $20,000 for Planned Parenthood in Virginia. [The] money is used to help low-income patients get preventative reproductive health care services.

"The intention was to pare down the picketers so they wouldn't be as intimidating to the women who are actually trying to seek reproductive preventative health care services."

[And anti-abortionist here] says that the success of the Pledge-A-Picket program means the protesters are doing something right. "We're having an effect. If they're trying to seek money for us being out there, that probably means they're losing money in another sense."

Sad, isn't it? Planned Parenthood now have donor-people that will donate money for each protestor out there. In other words, by protesting in front of the Planned Parenthood building, people are now pretty much making money for their cause...I guess all we can do is pray harder. (sorry, I had to cut out some of the words...)
